Panthers Drop Homecoming Game

In a game that was closer than the final score indicated, the Fillmore Central Panthers were topped by the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors 24-12 in football action Friday, Sept. 23 at Geneva.

Fillmore Central had been within two in the fourth period.

The loss spoiled the season’s homecoming game for the Panthers.

The Panthers fell behind 7-6 after the opening period, trailed 14-12 after the second period, and then trailed 14-12 after the third quarter.

Luke DeLong scored two touchdowns to provide all the Fillmore Central scoring.

“Players of the week were: practice player, Dalton Carter and Colin Monteforte; scout player, Chandler Menard and Wyatt Schiermeyer; courage player, Dillon Graham and Trey Wrich; team player, Kinser Gergen, Kyle Karcher and Luke DeLong,” said Fillmore Central Coach Ryan Komenda.

Receiving-Graham 2-38.
