E-M, B-D/S Compete At 2010 Mustang Invite

The Exeter-Milligan boys finished in third position in the team standings at the 2010 Mustang Invite in Friend with 90 points. The Bruning-Davenport/Shickley boys were fourth in the team standings at the eight-team invite on Tuesday, April 13. The meet was rescheduled from April 7.

Hampton was boys' team champions and Giltner was runner-up. The Timberwolf girls were second in the team standings with 88 points and the Eagle girls were fourth in Friend with 64 points. The Meridian girls were team champions at the meet.

E-M speedster Ryan Harre zipped to gold in both the 100-meter (11.3 seconds) and 200-meter dashes (23.9).

Four B-D/S thinclads won gold in Friend last Tuesday. Derek Swartzendruber cleared 6-feet to win the high jump and teammate William Mick sailed 12-0 in the pole vault to win the event. Garrett Zoucha clipped the tape in 53.3 seconds to triumph in the 400-meter dash and Mitchell Schroeder rolled to victory in the 800-meter run in 2:18.1. The Eagles' 1,600-meter relay team was also victorious at the invite winning the race in 3:56.9.

The E-M girls boasted two individual gold-medal winners and a championship relay team at the Mustang Invite. Jennifer Pribyl took first in the 800-meter run in 2:35.8 and older sister Heather Pribyl battled the 40-m.p.h. plus wind to take the gold in the 1,600-meter run in 6:41.2. The Timberwolves 1,600-meter relay team rallied past the B-D/S squad to win the event in 4:42.3. Taylor Erdkamp ran a strong anchor leg for the crew.

The Eagle girls saw Cynthia Mick set a New Meet Record in the pole vault after she cleared 9-6. Erika Schroeder won two events for B-D/S, as she took first in the 400-meter dash in 66.5 seconds and clipped the tape in 53.3 seconds to take gold in the 300-meter hurdles.
