Moore Named Believer, Achiever

Believers & Achievers is a state-wide program designed by U.S. Bank and the NSAA to give recognition to Nebraska’s future leaders.

Starting in October and continuing through May, 48 Nebraska high school seniors will be named Believers & Achievers. From those 48 finalists, eight will receive $500 scholarships from U.S. Bank to the college or university of their choice. The 48 students who show a commitment to good citizenship and involvement in school and community projects will be honored in the Believers & Achievers Program.

The NSAA and U.S. Bank are proud to recognize the accomplishments of six Believers & Achievers. They are Erik Becker, Norfolk Catholic; Matthew Gloe, Wood River; Kelsey Moore, Exeter-Milligan; Nicholas Pease, Ashland-Greenwood; Tyler Shields, Kearney; and Taylor Walla, North Bend.

Grade Point Average: 4.0 (On a 4.0 Scale)

NSAA Activity Participation: Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field, Play Production, Speech, Music.

Activity Honors and Awards: Member of Exeter-Milligan’s 2009 and 2010 NSAA Class D1 State Volleyball Championship Teams; 2008, 2009, and 2010 NSAA Academic All-State Volleyball and Play Production; Member of Exeter-Milligan’s 2010 and 2011 NSAA Girls State Basketball Championship Qualifying Teams; 2010 and 2011 NSAA Academic All-State Basketball; 2009 NSAA State Speech Qualifier; 2010 Class D All-State Symphonic and Jazz Bands.

School Involvement: Cheerleading Captain; Member of Quiz Bowl Team, FCCLA, and National Honor Society; DARE Role Model.

Community Involvement: Youth Softball and Basketball Coach; Vacation Bible School and Sunday School Teacher; 4-H Helper and Secretary; Member of Lutheran Youth Organization of Nebraska and Third District Youth Advisory Council.
