Eagle Girls End Inaugural Campaign 16-8

Finishing their season, the BDS Eagles put up a stiff fight for three quarters, but finally were downed by the Deshler Dragons 56-45 in girls basketball Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Tri-County in the first round of the sub-district play.

The game had see-sawed back and forth until Deshler took control for the win, after BDS had led by one after the third quarter.

BDS lost the game from the free throw line, making 5 of 13 charity tosses compared with 21 of 33 for Deshler. The Eagles forced 21 Deshler turnovers, but still picked up the loss.

The Eagles trailed 13-10 at the end of the first period, the score was 23-23 at halftime, and the Eagles held a lead of 39-38 after the third period.

The BDS season mark fell to 16-8.

BDS hit 2 of 12 three-pointers. The Eagles hit 17 of 47 field goals, while Deshler was 15 of 28 from the field. Deshler connected on 2 of 5 three-point tries.
