Exeter-Milligan finished up its regular season with a pair wins over McCool Junction and at Cross County.  The Timberwolves enter post-season play at 19-5 and No. 3 in wildcard points in Class D-2.
E-M led start-to-finish against the Mustangs.  The Timberwolves were ahead 20-16 at halftime and 29-22 after three periods of play.  E-M shot a paltry 23 percent (13-for-56) in the contest from the floor including just 2-for-13 from 3-point land.  The Timberwolves forced 19 turnovers and owned the boards, 34-21.
Kate Jansky netted 13 points for the winners.  Tara Mueller scored 10 points and snagged 13 rebounds.  Katherine White grabbed 10 rebounds and scored seven points. White also had seven steals. Beethe added five points for the home team and five rebounds.  Kelsey Bigelow and Anna Sluka both made a pair of free throws.  Alexis Turrubiates also made a free throw.
E-M led Cross County 31-26 at halftime on Friday and held on strongly for the 60-49 win.  The Timberwolves shot an improved 44 percent (22-for-50) from the floor.  E-M also out-rebounded the Cougars, 33-20, and was a solid 10-for-16 from the charity stripe.
Jansky buried four treys en route to a game-high 24 points.  Beethe added 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds.  White, Jaiden Papik and Sluka all had four points.  White dished out four points and snagged seven rebounds.  Papik had four rebounds and Sluka had three assists.  Mueller scored three points and Bigelow added a basket in the road win.
Top-seeded E-M began D2-2 Sub-district play on Tuesday against the Osceola/Parkview Christian winner. A date with either 9-12 Dorchester or 10-8 Mead, more than likely, awaits the Timberwolves on Thursday night in Malcolm.  Top-ranked Falls City Sacred Heart (20-1) is a prohibitive favorite to win the other side of the district bracket.
