The James Leslie Stephenson Memorial Agricultural Scholarship is a scholarship that has been created in memory of James L. Stephenson attributing to his passion for agriculture. James Stephenson grew up on a family farm outside of Fairmont in Fillmore County. The farm grew mostly corn and soybeans and raised livestock. James dedicated his life to agriculture.
His family wishes to extend his dedication to agriculture to youth in Fillmore County who are interested in pursing a career in agriculture. The scholarship amount of $2,000 will be awarded to an individual pursuing a degree in an agricultural related field.
Students must be a resident of Fillmore County. The scholarship amount will be awarded after completion of the first year of college/university coursework.
Application details include: two sealed letters of recommendation from individuals that can attest to commitment to agriculture, a completed application consisting of basic information and short answer questions, and students must have a minimum GPA of a 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
