Senior Center Receives Grant

The Exeter Senior Center was recently afforded the opportunity to apply for and receive a $1,500 grant from the Immanuel Vision Foundation located in Omaha. The Immanuel Vision Foundation Board of Directors chose to support seniors across the state of Nebraska by offering a one-time grant to each senior center in the state connected with one of the eight area agencies on aging.
The goal of the Immanuel Vision Foundation is to serve “the ministry of the church, seniors, and the health of the community.” This grant was open to be used for any legitimate and authorized program or activity of the senior center and the application was a simple six question process. Senior Centers were able to direct the use of funds for a variety of expenses including program support, operational expenses, building or maintenance expenses or to use for any special programming.
In the picture, you will see some of the regular participants of the Exeter Senior Center proudly standing in front of their Senior Center holding the recently received $1,500 check from the Immanuel Vision Foundation. The Exeter Senior Center Advisory Board which consists of six members will be discussing how to use the funds from this grant. One suggestion is to install an awning over the front entrance of the senior center.
The Exeter Senior Center is very grateful to have been given this opportunity to apply it appreciates the Immanuel Vision Foundation Board for its generosity and its support to senior citizens in the community of Exeter and across the entire state of Nebraska.
