The Exeter-Milligan Timberwolves defeated the Shelby Huskies 48-45 in an exciting overtime battle in boys basketball Friday, Jan. 7 at Shelby.

The score was tied 42-42 after regulation.

The Timberwolves jumped in front 16-10 at the end of the first period, led 24-20 after the second quarter, and then led 38-31 after the third period.

Exeter-Milligan improved its season mark to 6-4.

Exeter-Milligan connected on 2 of 13 three-point tries and made 12 of 14 from the line. The Timberwolves sank 17 of 47 field goal attempts, while Shelby was 19 of 39 from the field. Shelby hit 6 of 16 three-point tries and made 1 of 3 free throw attempts.

Exeter-Milligan held a 32-13 edge on the boards.

The Exeter-Milligan Timberwolves rolled over the Palmyra Panthers 61-40 in boys basketball Wednesday, Jan. 12 at Palmyra in the first round of the MUDECAS “B” Tournament.

The Timberwolves took the lead 19-10 after the first quarter, and margins of 13-11 and 19-8 in the second and third quarters boosted the lead to 51-29 going into the final period.

Exeter-Milligan improved its season mark to 7-4.

Exeter-Milligan connected on 4 of 13 three-pointers and made 11 of 15 free throw tries. The Timberwolves made 23 of 50 from the field, while Palmyra was 16 of 43 from the field. Palmyra connected on 1 of 8 three-pointers and made 7 of 13 free throw attempts.

The Exeter-Milligan Timberwolves were defeated by the Fall City Sacred Heart Irish 62-40 in boys basketball Thursday, Jan. 13 at Fall City in the second round game of the MUDECAS “B” Tournament.

Exeter-Milligan lost the game from three-point range, making 1 of 10 from long range compared with 10 of 13 for Fall City Sacred Heart.

Fall City Sacred Heart jumped in front 22-9 after the first quarter, and held an edge of 15-10 in the second quarter. Exeter-Milligan had an advantage of 10-8 in the third period to cut the deficit to 45-29 going into the final period.

The Exeter-Milligan season mark fell to 7-5.

Exeter-Milligan made 11 of 17 free throw attempts. The Timberwolves connected on 14 of 38 from the field, while Fall City Sacred Heart was 25 of 45 from the field.
