The BDS Eagles overpowered the Giltner Hornets 42-22 in girls basketball Friday, Jan. 7 at Giltner.

The Eagles took the lead 8-4 after the first quarter, and margins of 14-6 and 12-5 in the second and third quarters boosted the lead to 34-15 going into the final period.

BDS improved its season mark to 7-3.

BDS hit 1 of 7 three-pointers and hit 11 of 21 from the line. The Eagles hit 14 of 55 field goals, while Giltner was 8 of 33 from the field. Giltner connected on 0 of 2 three-point tries and made 5 of 14 free throw attempts.

The Eagles took the lead 10-4 after the first quarter, and margins of 21-4 and 16-0 in the second and third quarters boosted the lead to 47-8 going into the final period.

BDS improved its season mark to 8-3.

BDS sank 3 of 9 three-point tries and sank 10 of 16 free throw tries. The Eagles made 16 of 49 from the field, while Lewiston was 5 of 24 from the field. Lewiston sank 0 of 2 three-point tries and hit 2 of 2 from the line.
