Luzum Wins High Jump At CRC Meet

Exeter-Milligan got some work in before this week's D-4 District Meet in Sandy Creek by competing in the weather-moved 2016 Crossroads Conference (CRC) Meet and the McCool Paul Underwood Invite.
Timberwolf Trevor Luzum was able to strike gold at the always-difficult CRC Meet by winning the high jump with an effort of 6-feet.  Luzum also earned two more individual medals on May 2 in Osceola by placing fourth in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.3 seconds and fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 40-5.5.  Teammate Trystan Brandt was second in the triple jump with a leap of 41-5 and also took third in the long jump covering 20-2.75.
Jack Dinneen placed fourth in the pole vault by clearing 11-6 and also took sixth in the 1,600-meter run in 5:18.30.  The E-M boys 3,200-meter relay squad of Colton Bossaller, Mitchell Manning, Dinneen and Sam Zeleny placed third with a clocking of 8:53.50.  Patrick Murphy cleared 5-6 to place fifth in the high jump.  Zeleny was sixth in the 800-meter run (2:11.70). The Timberwolf boys 1,600-meter relay team of Bossaller, Brandt, Eric Olsen and Zeleny placed fifth (3:45.10).
The Timberwolf boys landed in sixth place in the team standings with 46.50 points.  The E-M girls were ninth in the team standings in Osceola with 24 points.
Timberwolf Kate Jansky was solid in the distance events taking second in the 3,200-meter run in 13:03.60 and third in the 1,600-meter run in 6:03.90.  Teammate Hannah Beethe also earned two medals by leaping 4-8 to place fourth in the high jump and finishing in 50.8 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles to place fourth.  The 400-meter relay squad of Hailey Luzum, Josie Kresak, Samantha Horne and Hannah Horne placed sixth and 1,600-meter relay team of Beethe, S. Horne, Kresak and H. Horne also took sixth on May 2.
The E-M boys finished in third in the team standings at the 2016 McCool Paul Underwood Track Classic, while the Timberwolf girls checked in at fifth.
The Timberwolf girls were unable to capture an event win on May 5 in McCool Junction.  Hailey Luzum captured second in the long jump.  Samantha Horne and Tara Mueller went 5-6 in the discus.  Mueller also placed sixth in the shot put.  Hannah Horne took fourth in the high jump.  The E-M girls 3,200-meter relay team took fourth.  Hannah Beethe placed third in the 100-meter hurdles, third in the 400-meter dash and second in the 300-meter hurdles.  Luzum was sixth in the 100-meter dash.
Kate Jansky placed third in the 3,200-meter run, second in the 800-meter run and fourth in the 1,600-meter run.  H. Horne placed sixth in the 200-meter dash.  The Timberwolf girls' 400-meter and 1,600-meter relays both placed third.
Timberwolf Trystan Brandt won two individual events and Trevor Luzum won three individual events in McCool Junction.  The E-M 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter relays were both golden as well.
Brandt won the long jump with a leap of 19-11.5 and also sailed 41-10.5 to win the triple jump.  Luzum cleared 6-0 to win the high jump and was clocked in 16.01 and 42.28 to win the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, respectively.  The squad of Eric Olsen, Jack Dinneen, Brandt and Sam Zeleny won the 1,600-meter relay in 3:42.38.  Dinneen, Mitchell Manning, Colton Bossaller and Zeleny teamed up to win the 3,200-meter relay in 9:04.44.
Dinneen, 12-0, was second in the pole vault.  Luzum went 41-.50 to place second in the triple jump.  Elliot Erdkamp was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles. Brandt was fourth in the 400-meter dash.  Olsen placed fifth in the 200-meter dash and Zeleny was second in the 800-meter run.
