E-M Boys 4th; Girls 8th At Tom White

The Exeter-Milligan boys landed in the fourth spot in the 2016 Tom White Track Invite in McCool Junction last Monday and the Timberwolf girls placed eighth in the team standings at the 12-team meet.  The 2016 Crossroads Conference (CRC) Track was moved from this Saturday, April 30, to Monday, May 2.  These results will appear in next week's newspaper.
The meet on April 25 had a district-type feel with all the top area Class D teams in attendance.  McCool Junction captured the boys' team race, with Giltner, Osceola and E-M coming next in a blanket finish for second.  Just 3.5 points separated the trio.  Osceola nudged out Bruning-Davenport/Shickley for the girls' title with Friend and Meridian rounding out the Top 4.
Trystan Brandt again had a strong showing for the Timberwolves.  Brandt took first in the triple jump in McCool Junction with a leap of 40-feet, 2.5-inches. Brandt was also third in the long jump (19-1) and fourth in the 400-meters (54.06 seconds).  Trevor Luzum also struck gold for the E-M boys winning the 300-meter hurdles in a championship time of 42.22 seconds.  Luzum was also second in the 110-meter hurdles (16.19) and fifth in the high jump (5-8).
The E-M boys were strong in the relays on April 25.  The 1,600-meter relay squad of Colton Bossaller, Brandt, Luzum and Sam Zeleny placed third in a solid time of 3:41.47.  The 3,200-meter relay team of Bossaller, Mitchell Manning, Jack Dinneen and Zeleny placed second in a time of 9:00.08. The Timberwolf boys 400-meter relay squad of Bossaller, Zeleny, Elliot Erdkamp and Cameron White placed fifth in 47.52.
Additional points for the E-M boys came from Dinneen, pole vault, sixth, 11-0; Erdkamp, fifth, 110 hurdles, 18.70; Manning, third, 3,200-meter run, 11:37.75; Zeleny, third, 800-meter run, 2:11.12; Dinneen, fifth, 1,600-meter run, 5:21.33; and Manning, sixth, 1,600-meter run, 5:22.36.
Four Timberwolf girls and two relays earned medals in McCool Junction last Monday.  Katherine White placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 15-1.50.  Teammate Hailey Luzum was next at fifth with 14-11.50. Kate Jansky struck gold in the 3,200-meter run for E-M with a clocking of 13:04.33.  Jansky was also third in the 800-meter run (2:38.50) and fifth in the 1,600-meter run (6:16.92).  Hannah Beethe took third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 50.82.
The E-M girls 1,600-meter relay squad of Beethe, Samantha Horne, Josie Kresak and Hannah Horne placed fourth on April 25 in a time of 4:38.21.  The 400-meter relay team of Luzum, Kresak, Haylee Sheffield and H. Horne came in fifth with a clocking of 56.56 seconds.
