Panthers Now 3-3 On Season

Fillmore Central finished 1-2 at this weekend's Sandy Creek Volleyball Invitational, after winning matches against Milford and at Tri County.
The 3-3 Panthers defeated Superior 25-20, 25-15 on Saturday in Sandy Creek.  Ashton O'Brien pounded eight kills to pace the FC offense.  Both McKenzie Scheil and Emileigh Kennel smacked six terminations.  Jamey Broman cracked five kills against the Wildcats and both Aiwa Temme and Haley Hiatt had one termination.  Hiatt dished up 20 ace sets and Temme added two assists.
Broman paced the defense with nine digs.  Scheil recorded five digs and both O'Brien and Hiatt tallied four digs.  O'Brien, Broman and Cori Knapp all belted an ace serve.  O'Brien and Broman both recorded an ace block.
FC fell to Doniphan-Trumbull 25-20, 25-17 on September 12.  O'Brien slammed down a dozen kills and Scheil added four terminations.  Hiatt tallied 14 assists and Temme recorded four ace sets.
Broman thumped three ace serves and Lydia Birky nailed one ace.  Hiatt paced the Panther defense with eight digs and one ace block.
Alma got past FC 25-15, 25-22 in Sandy Creek.
Scheil and O'Brien both smacked six kills in the match.  Kennel added a pair of terminations.  Hiatt recorded 13 ace sets, two ace blocks, four digs, one kill and one ace serve against the Cardinals.
Broman laced down three ace serves against Alma and also came up with a pair of digs.  Temme tallied three digs and an ace set. Scheil and O'Brien both paced the FC defense with five digs.
On Tuesday, September 8, the Panthers picked up their first win of the season with a 25-22, 19-25, 25-18, 24-26, 15-4 triumph over Milford.
O'Brien slammed 15 kills in the victory for FC.  Both Broman and Scheil added nine terminations each.  Kennel thumped six kills and Temme added five terminations.  Hiatt added three kills and Hannah Norvell tallied a kill and a dig in the match.
Broman crushed five ace serves in the win and Temme added three ace serves.  O'Brien paced the defense with 22 digs and Broman added a dozen digs.  Hiatt tallied 35 ace sets in the home victory and Temme recorded two.  Hiatt also contributed three ace blocks.  O'Brien added two blocks and an ace serve.  Both Kennel and Scheil recorded an ace block for FC.  Knapp and Hiatt also belted ace serves against the Eagles.
On Thursday, September 10, the Panthers traveled to Tri County and defeated the Lady Trojans in straight sets, 25-14, 25-13, 25-18.
O'Brien ripped 10 kills for the victors and Kennel added nine terminations.  Scheil, Broman and Temme all belted five kills against TC.  Hiatt posted 22 ace sets and a kill in the win.
Hiatt also cracked four ace serves in the triumph.  O'Brien tallied three ace serves and Temme added a pair of ace serves.  Broman had one.  O'Brien paced the Panther defense with eight digs, while Broman and Scheil both added seven.  Knapp added six digs.
Scheil posted four ace blocks against the Trojans, while Hiatt added three.  O'Brien had a pair of ace blocks, while Temme and Kennel both had one.  Temme tallied two ace sets.
FC hosted Heartland on Tuesday before travelling to Wilber-Clatonia on Thursday and then hosting a home tournament this Saturday.
