BDS Track Teams Compete At 2015 Sutton Relays On March 26

On Thursday, March 26, the Bruning-Davenport/Shickley track team kicked off the 2015 season by participating in the Sutton Mustang Relays held on a cool and cloudy afternoon in Sutton.  In the all-relay meet, the boys finished fourth and the girls took fifth overall.  Distances in the field events were combined to make up the relay finish for those events.
The boys placed in every relay they competed in and were led by the Throwers 400 relays first place finish.  Colton Lowery, Stuart Rohr, John Alfs, and Holden Stengel were the runners on that team.  Colton, Stuart and Holden were also able to finish 5th in the discus relay, while John and Holden were joined by Kendall Dickson to finish 5th in the shot put relay as well.
The pole vault relay team of Blake Stengel and Chris Lichti took second as did the high jump relay team of Sam Christensen, Ben Elznic and Kale Smith.  The long jump relay of Nate Hendrickson, Cody Garland and Noel Gines also took second to close out the field event portion of the meet.
The running relays were led by second place finishes in the 3200 relay where Charlie Martin, TJ Krupicka, Jayden Otto, and Chris Rohr teamed up, the Sprint Medley where Noel was joined by Josh Hinrichs, Grant Norder, and Hunter Krehnke, and the 800 relay where Cody, Noel and TJ were joined by Kale Kleinschmidt.
Other relays that placed were the third place 400 relay where Grant and Kale Kleinschmidt teamed up with Tyler Anderson and Thomas Mick and the third place Freshmen 800 relay where Jacob Swartzendruber, Taylor Anderson, Austin Cordis, and Kellen Reinsch ran together.  Two fourth place finishes were the Middle Medley where Sam, Ben and Kendall were joined by Brett Holtzen and the Distance Medley where Brett teamed up with Kales Smith, Karson Dickson and Charlie.  The lone fifth place was the 1600 relay team of Karson, Brandon Anderson, Anthony Beavers, and Caleb Duff.
The girls’ team was also able to place in every relay it participated in and was led by three second place finishes.  One was the Throwers 400 relay team of McKenna Schardt, Kaylie Wilson, Kim Armgardt and Caitlyn Beddoe.   Another was the pole vault relay team of Tristen Mosier and Courtney Kamler, and the third was the Freshmen 800 relay team of Kim Ardissono, Haley Pena Lopez, Carley Elznic and Nicole Swartzendruber.

Other girls’ relays that placed were the discus relay where McKenna and Carley teamed up with Morgan Lowery to take third, as did the 800 relay which included Mashaya Dierking, Faith Stengel, Brice Ardissono, and Megan Grote.  The Middle Medley team of Mashaya, Carley, Kristen Troyer, and Haley also was third.  The 3200 relay was fourth and included Brice, Courtney, Lexi Kedle, and Madison Yantzie, as was the 400 relay team of Tristen, Megan, Nicloe, and Kim Ardissono.  Also taking fourth was the Sprint medley group of Mashaya, Faith, Tristen and Courtney as well as the Distance Medley team of Morgan, Brice, Madison, and Lexi.  The shot put relay team of Kim Armgardt, Caitlynn and Kaylie took fifth, as did Megan who competed as her own team in the high jump.  Megan teamed with Kristin to take sixth in the long jump to round out the girls scoring.
