FC Loses To Wolverines

After a great start, Fillmore Central only scored two points in the second quarter before falling to Wilber-Clatonia 60-48 in the second round of the C1-4 Sub-district.  The Panthers end its season at 11-12, while the Wolverines went on to defeat top-seeded Milford 63-59 to win the sub-district, which was played at Friend High School.
FC, behind 19 points from Leyton Hopken and 10 points from Thomas Norvell, led W-C 10-8 after the first period on February 24.  The Wolverines exploded for 14 points in the second period to lead 22-12 at intermission.  W-C edged the Panthers in second-half scoring 38-36.  FC was forced to press and shoot quickly for most of the final two stanzas.
Adam Hoarty netted eight points for FC, while Lance Donovan added five.  Both Hunter Kleinschmidt and Nate Rasmussen tossed in three points for the Panthers.  Hopken had eight rebounds.
