Panthers Runners-up In Hebron

Jividen 27-6; Jacobson 28-4; Schiermeyer 32-3; Adams 34-1; Hinrichs 38-0; All champs

The Fillmore Central wrestling squad took runner-up team honors at the 2015 Thayer Central Wrestling Invite.  The Panthers notched 136.5 points in Hebron to chase home Fairbury in the team standings at the 11-team invite. Along the way, FC picked up individual championships at five different weight levels.
"We had five champions in Hebron, which was exciting," Panther head coach Ryan Komenda said.
Earning individual championships at the TC Invite on Friday, January 23, for the FC included Cole Jividen, finishing 3-0 at 106 pounds.  Jividen's season mark now stands at 27-6.  Davis Jacobson was also a perfect 3-0 on Friday to take top honors at 138 pounds.  The Panther senior is now 28-4 on the year.  Wyatt Schiermeyer was golden at 152 pounds with a 4-0 performance in Hebron.  Schiermeyer moved to 32-3 on the season.
Panther Trevor Adams dominated the field at 220 pounds in Hebron to finish 3-0 on the day and move to 34-1 on the year.  FC heavyweight Jarrod Hinrichs continued his march toward an unbeaten season, finishing 4-0 at 285 pounds and raising his season mark to 38-0.
FC 120-pounder Parker Trowbridge placed fourth for the Panthers with a 2-2 performance on Friday afternoon.  Earning victories for FC in Hebron and finishing 1-2 on the day but not earning medals were Gaven Turgeon, 120; Isaac Klar, 160; and Travien Motis, 170.  Unable to capture a win and finishing 0-2 in Hebron were Gatlin Motis, 160; and R.J. Hinrichs, 170.
Komenda tabbed Schiermeyer and Jividen as his team's Wrestlers of the Week and also named J. Hinrichs and Adams as his squad's Practice Wrestlers of the Week.
The Panthers travel to Doniphan this Saturday for action at the Doniphan-Trumbull Invite.  Wrestling starts at 9 a.m.  The 2015 Southern Nebraska Conference Wrestling Championships will take place on Friday, February 6, at Sandy Creek High School.  Action is slated to begin at 4 p.m., with finals expected to start around 8 p.m.
