Panthers Down Superior

Fillmore Central concluded regular-season play with an impressive four-set victory at Superior on Thursday night, October 30.  The 14-15 Panthers downed the state-rated Wildcats 26-24, 24-26, 25-20, 25-20.  Superior fell to 21-6 on the season with the home-court loss.
Tracey Maloley ripped 23 kills to the floor to lead the FC hit parade.  Ashton O'Brien nailed nine terminations and Jamey Broman crunched eight kills.  McKenzie Scheil was credited with six kills and Abbie Parde tallied four kills.  Parde also recorded 38 ace sets in the triumph.
Maloley added two assists for the Panthers and Haley Hiatt added a kill and an assist for FC.  O'Brien smashed in three ace serves, while Maloley and Broman both belted a pair of ace serves.  Parde and Cori Knapp both tallied an ace serve in the win.
Aiwa Temme notched 30 digs on defense, while Parde added 20.  Broman came up with 18 digs and O'Brien recorded 15 digs.  Maloley was credited with four ace blocks and Parde added two blocks.

The Panthers began C2-3 Sub-district play on Monday night with a match against 4-22 Thayer Central.  With a win against the Titans, FC advances to battle top-seeded Sutton, more than likely, in sub-district final in Wilber on Tuesday, November 4.
