Timberwolf Spikers Improve To 19-6

Exeter-Milligan improved to 19-6 on the season with a 25-21, 25-20 victory over Shelby/Rising City on Saturday afternoon in the second round of the 2014 Crossroads Conference Volleyball Tournament.  The Timberwolves advanced to play top-seeded Hampton on Monday.  Giltner and Meridian are on the other side of the bracket.
E-M picked up a win earlier last week by defeating High Plains 25-13, 25-8, 25-22, on Tuesday, October 14, on the road.  The Storm are 8-13 in Class D-1 this season.
"We played very well in the first two sets," Timberwolf coach Darcy White said.  "We had some mental errors in the third set.  This was a solid performance by the girls."
Marissa Howard thumped 16 kills against High Plains in the win.  Amber Pribyl added 12 terminations and Hailey Luzum pounded seven kills.  Madison Horne added six terminations on October 14.
Sydney Hall posted 36 ace sets for E-M and Ashley Benorden added two assists.  Sam Horne also tallied an assist.  M. Horne, Luzum and Bendoren all belted a pair of ace serves and Howard added one.
M. Horne and Howard paced the Timberwolf defense with 10 digs apiece.  Pribyl and Luzum both notched eight digs.  Pribyl accounted for three ace blocks and Howard recorded one.
