B-D Rolls Past Eagles On Road

The Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles routed the Freeman Falcons 38-6 in eight-man football action Friday, Sept. 24 at Adams in a game where the Eagles piled up 357 total yards.

The Eagles forced six Freeman turnovers to provide a big assist for the victory.

“This was the best performance we’ve had on defense so far,” said Bruning-Davenport/Shickley coach Chris Ardissono. “We started the game focused and ready to play, causing four turnovers in the first quarter (two fumbles and two interceptions.”

“Defensive back Derek Swartzendruber, had two interceptions and three pass deflections,” said coach Ardissono.

The Eagles jumped ahead 14-0 after the first quarter, led 20-0 at halftime, and then held a lead of 26-0 after the third period.

Bruning-Davenport/Shickley improved its season mark to 3-1.

“Our offense has gained over 1,000 yard rushing in the first four games,” said Eagle coach Mark Rotter. “A big reason for the yards is our front five offensive linemen, Derek Swartzendruber, Tyler Lauenstein, Conrad Sell, Jeremy Row and Jose Gamboa. They average 6’2” and 200 pounds.”
