FC Spikers 2-1 In Hastings, Fall To SC

Fillmore Central went 2-1 on Saturday at the 2010 Adams Central Volleyball Tournament in Hastings.

The 11-3 Panthers defeated Centura and Centennial and lost to state-rated Sandy Creek on September 25.

FC beat 10-6 Centura 25-15, 29-27. Maggie Malone nailed 10 kills for the winners and Meg Loontjer added nine terminations. Heather Broman smacked four kills and both Lindsey Maloley and Amaly Reinsch added a pair.

Haley Norvell put up 24 ace sets for the Panthers and Reinsch added one. Malone smacked three ace serves for the victors and Loontjer, Reinsch, Broman and Maloley all posted one. Broman was credited with two ace blocks and Malone and Norvell both recorded one ace block. Reinsch and Norvell paced the defense with four digs.

The Panthers blasted 3-13 Centennial 25-12, 25-13 in Hastings on Saturday.

Loontjer snapped down six kills to pace FC, while Reinsch and Malone both recorded three terminations. Norvell was credited with 13 assists and Malone added one.

The Panthers nailed 14 service aces in the win. Maloley ripped four ace serves and Reinsch and Norvell both smacked three ace serves. Emilie Krienert whipped down two ace serves for FC.

Broman tallied three ace blocks in the win and Malone added a pair. Loontjer and Norvell each posted one ace block. Malone and Kelsey Swartz both had a pair of digs in the match.

The Panthers took a set off of Sandy Creek (14-2) before falling to the Cougars, 21-25, 25-17, 25-12.

Malone smacked eight kills against SC and Loontjer and Broman each notched seven terminations against the Cougars. Maloley added a half dozen kills for FC and Reinsch notched one.

Norvell put up 14 assists in the match and Reinsch tallied 10 ace sets. Maloley also had an assist in the loss.

Reinsch smacked two ace serves for FC and Loontjer added one ace serve. Broman. Maloley and Brooke Rasmussen all tallied two ace blocks against the Cougars.

Reinsch and Malone both recorded four digs in the match and Loontjer and Broman tallied two. Reinsch and Malone both tallied an ace block.

The Panthers travelled to Sutton to play the Fillies on Tuesday before competing in the Ashland/Greenwood Tournament beginning Thursday. FC plays Fairbury at 5:30 p.m. and Lincoln Lutheran at 7 p.m. The Panthers play Plattsmouth at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
