E-M Spikers Starts Season 2-0

Defending D-1 State Champion Exeter-Milligan began its 2010 campaign with a narrow victory over Bruning-Davenport/Shickley and a convincing win over host Hampton at a triangular on September 2.

The 2-0 Timberwolves got past the Eagles 25-23, 29-27 to begin play in Hampton. Heather Pribyl hammered 12 kills against BDS and Claire White thumped seven. Jackie Luzum nailed three terminations and Megan Zwickl, Jennifer Pribyl and Caroline Harre each added a kill.

Kelsey Moore directed the offense and posted 13 ace sets. The senior setter also thumped five ace serves in the match. Taylor Erdkamp and Zwickl both added three assists in the hard-fought win. On defense, H. Pribyl notched three ace blocks and Zwickl posted one ace block. White led the team with 10 digs and Cassie Harre added seven. Luzum, Taylor Slezak and Moore all were credited with three digs in the season-opening win over 1-1 BDS.

The Timberwolves defeated the Hawks convincingly 25-13, 25-22 in the nightcap.

White crunched 12 kills against Hampton (0-2). Zwickl smacked four kills and H. Pribyl added three. Luzum and Caroline Harre both cranked down two kills in the match.

Moore recorded nine ace sets in the win and Slezak added four. Luzum smacked four ace serves against the Hawks and Moore had two. H. Pribyl and White both notched an ace block.

White tallied eight digs for the winners and Moore added seven. Luzum was credited with three digs on defense and Amanda Dinnen had two.
