Panthers Third At FC Golf Invite At HHCC PDF Print E-mail

The Fillmore Central golf team landed in third place in a talent-filled field at the 2012 FC Golf Invitational, which took place on Tuesday, April 10, at the Hidden Hills Country Club in rural Geneva.

The 11-team invite was won by Class C State-favorite Sutton, who combined to fire a team score of 320. The Mustangs had four golfers in the Top 11 last Tuesday including Reid Wiebe, who won the individual championship with a 75 (rounds of 35 and 40). Panther Evan Hubert was just five strokes back with an impressive round of 80. The FC senior fired a 39 on his first nine and carded a 41 on the back. Hubert was third in the individual medal standings behind Mustang Dustin Scheidemann who carded a 77.

The Panthers had a second golfer who earned an individual medal on April 10, as Kyle Bailey carded rounds of 47 and 46 to finish with a 93 and earn a 14th-place medal. The FC varsity combined to fire 367 at the invite, which took third-place team honors. David City was second with a 366 and Thayer Central placed fourth with a 378.

Rounding out the Panther varsity scores on April 10 were Travis Waldron, 46 and 49 for a 95; Austin Tatro, 40 and 49 for a 99; and Brandon Burklund, 55 and 59 for a 114.
