The Exeter-Milligan Timberwolves defeated the Diller-Odell Griffins 50-34 in girls basketball Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Diller-Odell in the first round of the D1-1 Sub-district Tournament.
The Timberwolves took the lead 17-8 after the first quarter, and margins of 11-6 and 14-10 in the second and third quarters boosted the lead to 42-24 going into the final period.
Exeter-Milligan improved its season mark to 20-3.
Exeter-Milligan hit 2 of 5 three-pointers and connected on 12 of 20 free throw tries. The Timberwolves made 18 of 54 field goal attempts, while Diller-Odell was 13 of 41 from the field. Diller-Odell connected on 2 of 8 three-point attempts and sank 6 of 13 from the line.

The Exeter-Milligan Timberwolves put up a stiff fight for three quarters, but finally were defeated by the Friend Bulldogs 47-34 in girls basketball Thursday, Feb. 16 at Wilber in the championship game of the D1-1 Sub-district Tournament.
The game had see-sawed back and forth until Friend took control for the win, after Exeter-Milligan had led by three after the third quarter.
The Timberwolves fell behind 12-8 after the first quarter, the score was 21-21 after the second quarter, and the Timberwolves led 30-27 going into the final period.
The Exeter-Milligan season mark fell to 20-4.
Exeter-Milligan made 3 of 8 three-pointers and hit 9 of 21 free throw attempts. The Timberwolves made 11 of 47 from the field, while Friend was 16 of 68 from the field. Friend connected on 2 of 16 three-point tries and sank 13 of 31 free throw attempts.
