January Auxiliary Meeting

The Fillmore County Hospital Auxiliary met in the hospital conference room with 19 members attending on January 3. President Loydeen Stengel opened the meeting with a thought of the day.

The minutes were read with one correction made. The treasurer gave the monthly and yearly report on the Auxiliary's finances. The bake sale profit was $969.25. No bills were reported. The reports were filed for audit.

There were 37 babies born in 2010; the group is ahead on crocheting the baby caps; no report on pillows-still need children's fabric and yarn; Star of Health received $458 donations; no report on health loans.

New business:

Donna Brabec suggested we transfer our business from York State Bank to Geneva State Bank for convenience. Motion made and seconded to do so. It was brought to the attention of Auxiliary that we have a C.D. coming due. Question was asked should we cash it now to use for a wheelchair and/or scale, or wait until the new hospital is completed? Discussion was held. Motion was made and seconded to wait until September to cash the C.D.

Ruth Sorge asked if someone else would take over the responsibility of asking for grants. Donna Brabec accepted the position with unanimous approval.

Installation of new officers were Jeri Rippe, president, and Loydeen Stengel, treasurer.

The next meeting will be April 4, at 2 p.m., in the hospital conference room, hosted by Strang.

Due to July 4 being on the first Monday, the month of July meeting will be held on Monday, July 11, hosted by Grafton and Fairmont.
