Fillmore Central/Shickley Trap Team Hosts Meet

The Fillmore Central/Shickley Trap Team started the season with a bang last week by hosting a meet at the Geneva Gun Club. There were several shooters from the local team as well as from Sutton, Exeter-Milligan and York.

In the Junior High Division, the High Jr Female Award went to Sydney Steyer of Exeter-Milligan, after she nailed 37 rocks. The High Junior High Male Award was awarded to Garrett Whitley after he won a shoot-off with Tyler O’Connor, both of Fillmore Central/Shickley, after they hit 38 rocks. The High Junior High Team trophy was won by the Fillmore Central/Shickley team of Tanner Ourada, Tyler O’Connor, Baylee Howell, Colton Jacobson and Tanner Nun. Collectively, they hit 163 out of 200 rocks.

The wind didn’t slow down the shooters in the Senior Division either. From the 16-yard mark, the High Senior Female was awarded to Barbara Baker of York with 42 rocks. Colin Monteforte and Jacob Bespelac of Fillmore Central/Shickley both nailed 46 rocks from the 16-yard line tying for the high position. Bespelac won the High Senior Male Award following the shoot-off. The High Senior team was won by the Fillmore Central/Shickley team of Matt Loseke, Andrew Schropfer, Emily Alfs, Richard Knoche and Charlie Buckles after they hit 208 rocks.

In the Senior Handicap round, Thane Motis of Fillmore Central/Shickley took home the High Handicap Award after nailing 44 rocks. The individual handicap awards went to the following: 18-19-yard was won by Austin Tatro of Fillmore Central/Shickley with 42; 20-21-yard was awarded to Danny Loseke of Fillmore Central/Shickley with 42; 22-23-yard was won by John Norquest of York with 42 and the 24-25 yard was awarded to Brevann Nun of Fillmore Central/Shickley after hitting 39. The High Handicap Team was won by the Fillmore Central/Shickley team of Wyatt Schiermeyer, Brevann Nun, Jacob Bespelac, Dillon Graham and Austin Tatro.

The High Over All Award was won by Charlie Buckles of Fillmore Central/Shickley after competing in a shoot-off with Colin Monteforte also of Fillmore Central/Shickley after they both nailed 87 on the day.
