The Exeter-Milligan Timberwolves roared back in the fourth quarter to top the Giltner Lady Hornets 38-32 in girls basketball Thursday, Feb. 2 at Giltner in a win capped by a 22-8 fourth-quarter surge.

Exeter-Milligan had trailed by eight going into the final period.

Exeter-Milligan held onto the win from the free throw line, making 21 of 36 charity tosses to 3 of 7 for Giltner.

The Timberwolves jumped ahead 10-8 at the end of the first period, trailed 18-13 at halftime, and then trailed 24-16 going into the fourth quarter.

Exeter-Milligan improved its season mark to 16-3.

Exeter-Milligan connected on 1 of 12 three-point tries. The Timberwolves sank 8 of 49 field goal attempts, while Giltner was 14 of 39 from the field. Giltner sank 1 of 5 three-pointers.

Exeter-Milligan had 27 rebounds.

The Exeter-Milligan Timberwolves topped the Hampton Lady Hawks 53-45 in girls basketball Friday, Feb. 3 at Hampton as the winners led after each quarter.

The Timberwolves jumped ahead 15-9 after the first quarter, led 28-21 at halftime, and then led 36-33 going into the final period.

Exeter-Milligan improved its season mark to 17-3.

Exeter-Milligan made 1 of 8 three-pointers and hit 8 of 15 free throw attempts. The Timberwolves connected on 22 of 53 from the field, while Hampton was 15 of 61 from the field. Hampton connected on 2 of 11 three-pointers and hit 13 of 22 free throw attempts.
