Fillmore Central enters C2-1 Sub-district play this week at 14-8 after a pair of wins last week.
After a 12-12 standstill at halftime, the Panthers dominated the second half in their 41-31 win over Sandy Creek last Tuesday. After a pair of 3-pointers from freshman guard Jackie Schelkopf, FC led 27-21 midway through the third period and never looked back. The game was played in spurts, as both teams combined for over 30 second-half fouls.
Schelkopf paced the Panthers with 10 points. Alexis Schmidt and Macy Scott both had eight. Erin Schmidt added six points and Halle Theis contributed four. Lydia Birky scored three points and Jamey Broman added two.
FC downed Sutton on the road Friday night 42-35. No scoring information was available.
The Panthers began sub-district play on Tuesday in Fairbury against 9-12 Freeman. SNC nemesis 21-1 Superior is the C2-1 top-seed. Archbishop Bergen (16-4) is the top seed on the other side of the district bracket.
