Acuff Jr. Variety Show this Sunday

The Geneva Arts Council is bringing the Carl Acuff Jr. Variety Show band to town on Sunday, January 21, for a 3 p.m. performance. When it comes to great family-friendly entertainment, this dynamite show is considered an American institution. Enjoy the performance at the historic Geneva City Auditorium.
Carl started playing drums when he was three years old. His first gig at age 12 was with his dad and their little family band at a local festival.  For nearly a decade, Carl performed in various venues, including theaters and shows across Missouri and Arkansas. In 1992, 21-year-old Carl decided that he needed his own variety music show—and it flourished as a theater act in Branson.
Next, as a full-time road show, it garnered an even greater response. After 12 albums, five top-ten independent hits, and countless awards, including The Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year, Acuff returned to the Branson area and performed over 300 shows.  Responding to overwhelming demand, the show once again went back on the road.
The 2018 show contains all the great elements that have made Carl and the talented band so sought after including: country, blues, gospel, comedy, pop, Southern rock ‘n’ roll, doo-wap, disco, impersonations, Motown, audience participation and patriotic music. Bring grandma and the kids because all ages, from eight months to 80, have fun at a Carl Acuff Jr. Show.
The Nebraska Arts Council, a state agency, has supported the programs of the Geneva Arts Council through its matching grants program funded by the Nebraska Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. For more information, call the Nebraska Arts Council at 402-595-2122.
