A trying season for the Fillmore Central/Exeter-Milligan softball team ended with a pair of losses on Thursday afternoon in the C-4 District Softball Tournament in Geneva. The Panthers fell to Fairbury in eight innings, 8-7, on October 8 and then dropped a 5-1 decision to Friend in the consolation bracket. FC/E-M ended its 2015 campaign at 9-21. Fairbury ended its season at 15-18 and Friend went 13-18. Milford (18-14), a team the Panthers had defeated in the SNC semi-finals just a week ago, ended up powering through the consolation bracket in Geneva to earn a trip to State. Last Monday, FC/E-M scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth before allowing one in the top of the seventh to lose to 10-20 Class B Aurora 9-8.
