BDS Beats College View; Neb. Lutheran

Shickley improved to 3-1 on the season with a sweep of College View and Nebraska Lutheran at a triangular in Shickley on Thursday night. The Eagles will compete this week in the MUDECAS Volleyball Tournament before hosting its own invitational on Saturday in Shickley. Parents Day will take place on Tuesday, September 21, when BDS will host Shelby.

Erika Schroeder paced the Eagle hit attack against College View with six kills. Teammates Shelby Garland, MaKaleigh Yantzie and Taylor Houck all thumped three kills in the match, which was won by the Eagles 25-14, 25-12.

Yantzie added seven ace sets in the match and also three ace serves. Garland paced the defense with 10 digs and two ace blocks. She also thumped three ace serves along with MaKenna Coy smacking two ace serves.

Ashley Hinrichs added four ace sets in the win and Schroeder came up with six digs for the winners. Houck and Kaitlyn Krupicka both added two ace blocks for BDS.

The Eagles downed Nebraska Lutheran 25-16, 25-21 on September 9.

Schroeder, Garland and Caressa Reinsch all cracked six terminations against the Knights. Krupicka added five kills in the triumph.

Yantzie put up 10 ace sets and also thumped two aces. Hinrichs added five assists in the win and Coy contributed two ace serves. Garland came up with 12 digs and Houck added an ace block. Schroeder also had 12 digs and Krupicka added an ace block for the Eagles in the match.
